Our Reinforced Fire and Security Door Kept the Thief out of the House

Our lawnmower was stolen from our garage a few days ago. The kids were in school and my wife and I were at work. The garage was closed and locked. It was still closed up when we got home. When I opened the garage door with the remote, I noticed that our brand new lawnmower had been stolen. There were also a few tools missing. I guess they didn’t want the old weed trimmer. We were now victims of a break in, but we got off easy. I was not going to let it happen again and went to besthomesecurity.net to get an alarm system installed.

It looked like the thief busted open the door around the back of the garage. Then I guess he just pushed the button inside to open the big garage door and had his way with our stuff closing the door on his way out to not raise suspicion from the neighbors. We saw marks on the door that leads into the house, but the good thing there is that it is a reinforced security and fire door. He would have had to make a lot of noise to break it down. That confined his thievery to the garage.

We had just purchased the new mower. It is an expensive model too. I checked with our insurance company and the items do not add up to the high deductible we have. So we are out about a thousand dollars plus a door. One of the worst things is the feeling of being violated. Even worse is the thought of how if we had an alarm system the thief would not have targeted our house. Well, I am not going to be so lackadaisical any longer about my family’s security. I called to get an alarm system installed. I also opted for the new surveillance cameras that are a further deterrent. The small investment gives us peace of mind about our home security.
